Revtangen BO March 26th

South 7-9 m/s, cloudy, 6-7 degrees. The wind dropped a little mid-morning, and most nets were opened around 10. Netmeter hours approx. 2000. There were some migrants around, in particular Common Blackbirds but also a few European Robins, Goldcrests and the first Dunnock and Chiffchaffs of the year. Common Linnets had also arrived and several flew over the trapping area.

Dunnock, 2 cy. Jernspurv, 2K.

Ringed: Meadow Pipit 1, Dunnock 1, Winter Wren 1, European Robin 5, Common Blackbird 11, Common Chiffchaff 2, Goldcrest 3, Great Tit 1, Tree Sparrow 3, House Sparrow 6, Yellowhammer 5. Total = 39. Also 10 controls.

2 Chiffchaffs on March 26th is quite early, but there have been many reported in southern Norway the past week. Gransanger.

Goldcrest, male. All 3 ringed today were males, and we are still early in their miration. Fuglekonge hann.

Oppsummering av merketall: Heipiplerke 1, jernspurv 1, gjerdesmett 1, rødstrupe 5, svarttrost 11, gransanger 2, fuglekonge 3, kjøttmeis 1, pilfink 3, gråspurv 6, gulspurv 5. Total = 39. Også 10 kontroller.
