Summer ringing

Norway has left behind the warmest and driest July ever measured. It is still too earaly to say for sure how this has influenced the bird populations, but things are lookling good so far for the insect spacialists. Ringing activities for at least a few hours were carried out on 11 days in July, of which one day was spent on wader ringing at Revtangen. In total, 506 birds were ringed in July: Commion Ringed Plover 1, Red Knot 11, Curlew Sandpiper 1, Dunlin 34, Ruff 3, Redshank 2, Green Sandpiper 3, Wood Sandpiper 1, Turnstone 2, Collared Dove 8, Bars Swallow 13, House Martin 1, Meadow Pipit 2, Grey Wagtail 2, White Wagtail 6, Winter Wren 1, Fieldfare 5, Sedge Warbler 3, Icterine Warbler 2, Lesser Whitethroat 1, Common Whitethroat 2, Garden Warbler 1, Chiffchaff 6, Willow Warbler 135, WilloW Tit 1, Great Tit 20, Commoin Starling 50, House Sparrow 68, Tree Sparrow 8, Chaffinch 20, Greenfinch 47, Eurasian Siskin 1, Commion Linnet 15, Lesser Redpoll 24, Yelliowhammer 5, Reed Bunting 1.
