Revtangen BO May 25th-June 5th

Some ringing were carried out most days, but the whole period was without any significant arrivals of migrants. 98 birds were ringed, and the highlight was a 2cy male Common Rosefinch on June 1st.

Ringed, May 25th-June 5th: Collared Dove 3, Barn Swallow 5, Meadow Pipit 6, Common Redstart 1, Fieldfare 9, Redwing 2, Common Blackbird 1, Sedge Warbler 5, Icterine Warbler 1, Blackcap 2, Garden Warbler 8, Common Whitethroat 4, Lesser Whitethroat 3, Willow Warbler 4, Chiffchaff 4, Spotted Flycatcher 2, Hooded Crow 1, Common Starling 4, House Sparrow 14, Chaffinch 1, Greenfinch 1, Lesser Redpoll 17, COMMON ROSEFINCH 1. Total = 98. Also 37 controls.


Another 3 Collared Dove were ringed this period. Tyrkerdue.

The spring total stopped at 961 new birds, which is close to the average for the last 10 years. 260 birds were controlled. Revtangen is not a typical spring location, and we ring approx. 85% of the birds during autumn.

A Dark Tussock (Gynaephora fascelina) was a new moth species at Revtangen in early Kune 2021. Heibørstespinner.
