Revtangen BO August 24th-25th

Most nets open and preparations for "Open Day" on the 24th, but the wind was too strong from the south and catching was inefficient. On Sunday it was "Open Day" with around 180 visitors to the bird observatory. More migrants in the trapping area then, but again the wind turned south and a combination of sun and wind resulted in very few birds after 11. But, thanks to the guys with the walk-in traps at Revtangen we had a steady flow of waders to ring, and that saved the day!

Ringed, August 24th (most mistnets 6-13): WATER RAIL 1, Green Sandpiper 2, Meadow Pipit 1, Sedge Warbler 1, Reed Warbler 4, BARRED WARBLER 1, Common Whitethroat 2, Garden Warbler 4, Blackcap 3, Willow Warbler 2, Tree Sparrow 4, Lesser Redpoll 1. Total = 26.
