Redstarts in the rain

The wather has been variable for the past days, to say the least. On the 10th we had strong rain most of the day, but the rain cleared in the late afternoon. The rain had obviously produced a fall af migrants, and we put up the nets for a couple of hours between 18 and 20. Netmeter hours: Approx. 700.

Ringed May 10th: Redstart 5, Sedge Warbler 1, Blackcap 1, Common Whitethroat 1, Willow Warbler 10, Pied Flycatcher 4, Tree Sparrow 2. Total = 24, also 5 controls.

Nortwest winds on the 11th, no trapping.

On the 12th there was light shifting breeze and mostly sunny. The wind turned south and increased around mid-day, difficult trapping conditions after that.

Ringed May 12th: Collared Dove 4, Meadow Pipit 1, Redstart 1, Willow Warbler 3, Chiffchaff 2, Chaffinch 1, Greenfinch 1, Common Linnet 1. Also 8 controls, including a Common Linnet with a ring from Belgium.
