Many geese, few passerines

Once again there was rain in the early hours. The nets were opened around 07.30. and kept open until 15.30, netmeter hours approx. 2600. The wind was light shifting at first, later 5-6 m/s from the WSW. Sunny. Decent trapping conditions only for a couple of hours in the morning. 1600 Barnacle Geese migrated north between 09-12. 

Ringed: Ring Ouzel 1, "Greenland" Wheatear 1, Blackcap 1, Chiffchaff 1, Willow Warbler 8. Total = 12. Also 4 controls.

Observations: Barnacle Goose 1600, Red-throated Loon 37 n, Pintail 1 par n, Whimbrel 2 n, Red-breasted Merganser 30 n, Golden Plover 400+.

The new windbreaker wall was almost finished today, it will be a great improvement to the trapping area and reduce both wind and traffic noise.
