Revtangen BO September 17th-18th

A couple of days with very calm easterlies in the morning, and good numbers of birds in the trapping area. Playback at night on Garden Warbler attracted good numbers of Blackcaps. Also playback on Grey Wagtail, European Goldfinch and pipits.

The first Yellow-browed Warbler of the season - always a highlight. Trapped on the 17th and controlled the next day. Gulbrynsanger.

September 17th-18th: Sparrowhawk 2, JACK SNIPE 1, Great Spotted Woodpecker 1, Tree Pipit 18, Meadow Pipit 11, Grey Wagtail 17, Winter Wren 18, European Robin 34, "Greenland" Wheatear 1, Common Blackbird 1, Song Thrush 3, Redwing 4, Reed Warbler 1, Common Whitethroat 2, Garden Warbler 6, Blackcap 90, YELLOW-BROWED WARBLER 1, Chiffchaff 11, Willow Warbler 4, Goldcrest 3, Spotted Flycatcher 2, Blue Tit 5, Great Tit 4, Eurasian Nuthatch 1, House Sparrow 4, Tree Sparrow 5, Chaffinch 6, Greenfinch 26, European Goldfinch 8, Eurasian Siskin 8, Common Linnet 1, Lesser Redpoll 11, Common Crossbill 1, Yellowhammer 4, Reed Bunting 2. Total = 319. Also 19 controls, including 3 Blackcaps and 1 European Robin not from Revtangen.



A Jack Snipe is a rare catch at Revtangen BO, this is only the 3rd since 2007. Kvartbekkasin.
