Revtangen BO September 19th

After a break with northerlies, few birds and no trapping on the 19th, there was another decent arrival of migrants on the 20th when the wind turned back to NE for a few hours in the morning. 115 new birds were ringed. Playback on Garden Warbler, Grey Wagtail, pipits, Yellow-browed Warbler and Chiffchaff, but little luck with the Phylloscopus.




The highlight of the day was the first Common Rosefinch of the year, as usual a 1 cy. Rosenfink 1K.

Ringed, September 20th: Grey Wagtail 5, Tree Pipit 7, Meadow Pipit 3, Winter Wren 17, European Robin 9, Common Redstart 1, Song Thrush 5, Garden Warbler 5, Blackcap 8, Lesser Whitethroat 1, Willow Warbler 2, Chiffchaff 2, Goldcrest 1, Blue Tit 3, Great Tit 5, Eurasian Nuthatch 3, Tree Sparrow 4, Chaffinch 5, Brambling 3, Greenfinch 15, Eurasian Siskin 6, Lesser Redpoll 2, COMMON ROSEFINCH 1, Yellowhammer 2. Total 115. Also 18 controls, included a Great Tit not from Revtangen.


Common Redstarts have been very few at Revtangen in 2020, so this female was a welcome catch. Rødstjert hunn.

Ringmerket, 20. september: Vintererle 5, trepiplerke 7, heipiplerke 3, gjerdesmett 17, rødstrupe 9, rødstjert 1, måltrost 5,hagesanger 5, munk 8, møller 1, løvsanger 2, gransanger 2, fuglekonge 1, blåmeis 3, kjøttmeis 5, spettmeis 3, pilfink 4, bokfink 5, bjørkefink 3, grønnfink 15, grønnsisik 6, brunsisik 2, ROSENFINK 1, gulspurv 2. Total = 115. Også 18 kontroller, inkl. en fremmed kjøttmeis.
